Plot and Storyline:
Tamiluku En ondra
Azhuthavaum(2015) is a Tamil thriller
directed by Ramprakash Rayappan. Three stories run parellelly and the stories
meet at the climax of the film.
The film starts with the end of
the film, The director sets the pace of the film at the beginning when he tells
the things about to happen, A Crane which is about to drop a 63 ton Rock and one of the leads- Simi(played by Bindhu madhavi) is struck at the bottom of it, A bomb Triggered
by cellphone is on the loose in Raja's car(played by Ramesh), a call taxi driver. He
also adds by telling that all will happen by a cell phone call.
The film starts with Vasanth, a Techie
who does Engineering projects for Students as a hobby, He meets Harini( played
by Aishwarya Dutta) , who seeks a projects from him, They slowly become
friends. Vasanth works on a project to restore Cell phone connectivity in case
of signal failure. The second story is of Simi
and Mukhil , In a accident that happens in the construction site Simi gets
sturck under some construction equipment and she tries to call Mukhil but there
is no cell coverage. The third and final story is of Raja( Played by sathish),
a taxi driver whose got a bomb in his car and it will blow up when it is
triggered by a cell phone. Meanwhile there is a solar flare which affects the
cell phone towers and entire city is disconnected.
The director’s effort to make the
movie as real as possible is commendable, Most Tamil just use some lame stuff
to explain technology, But in this film almost most of the scenes that Vasanth
and harini do are technical and it is explained in great detail (sometimes a
bit dragging), but is very positive sign when we see a Kollywood film to give
such importance to realism. The film gets dragged in between until all the three stories connect, but the last
20 mins is pure suspense. All there characters beautifully get connected in the
end giving a perfect thriller at the end. Though TEOA was not a commercial hit,
it is a great Sci-fi stuff very new to kollywood.
