Jill.Jung.Juck – The
Man behind and front of the Screen!
In case you
are wondering what is this write up about, Is it’s the teser review ? or any
insight information on the movie, you are probably wrong. Its obviously about
siddarth! and the film, yes! But let me focus on how the film came about to be
and the star cast in the film and finally make some predictions about the
teaser which is purely speculative and does not have any proof.
So “Jill
Jung Juck” is a debut film for the director Deeraj Vaidy. Almost the entire
team of Jill Jung Juck is quite new starting from the director, the cinematographer
and the editor. Actually except for
siddarth, Nassar, Radha Ravi all of the actors are quite new. There would be a
story behind how the director got the story and how he convicted Siddarth to do
it, But I don’t know of it. So It is the typical new age film with a completely
new story line and theme, In an interview with Deccan Chronicle the director has said that the theme of the movie
is hard to predict and it lies between Dark comedy and black humor, both of
which is very rare in Tamil cinema, somewhere in the lines of Jigarthanda and
Soodhu Kavuum. In a more recent
promotional video with “Put Chutney” and
in the trailer of the film Siddarth mentioned that the Movie is set in 2020,
Which makes me think is this some kind of Tamil – Post Apocalyptic film ( Given
the looks of Siddarth and the leeds)- Purely Guess!.
Shoot the Kuruvi and Radha Ravi:
The Single
is viral and its making waves not only here but in abroad as well, In a funny
press Meet, Radha Ravi’s explanation of the making of the film and how get to
do the role and the single offcourse is quite interesting. As he says in the
interview he has been part of this Next-Gen Team in all major biggies getting good
notice with the public, he is one of the few actors in the league of Nasser who
are lucky to do all these awesome supporting roles and What is making Radha
Ravi so hip is the variety of roles he pulls off, Starting from the chief
Minister of Tamilnadu ( Soodhu Kavuum) to a concerned father (Pisasu) and
finally a rapper in the signal of Jill Jung Juck. He is turning out to be one of the
sarcastic-cool actors of Kollywood, One of the very interesting speech he gave
on promotion event. Quote -“I have been in the industry for 30 years, no one
considered me as a singer, Now Bombay people are called me for a single again,
Can u imagine me doing a single!!”, This is was the highlight of his speech and
I really hope he goes places with his sarcasm!!

As we can
see clearly without doubt, even though of Siddarth would deny it. Jill Jung
Juck is Siddarth’s creation and how is has evolved from an amateur actor to the
man he is now is quite remarkable. From an assistant director to Mani Ratnam,
Siddarth has become of the elite members of the future generation of Kollywood.
Introducing new Genres and revisiting many old ones Siddarth is changing the
trend of the viewers, It can be literally seen in his promotion video ( its
quite obvious he is mocking the Masala films and telling Jill Jung Juck is the
opposite of it and that’s what people want to know, I hope!).
I think it
all started with Rang De Basanthi, which was a turning point for him as an
actor. Then came a load of films which he did I think just to go out of his way
and prove that he is a good actor like – Enakul Oruvan, Kaaviyathalaivan,
Jigarthanda etc. Off course he did commercial films as well. It would have been
very easy for him to maintain the cute handsome Hero, which he even is today,
and capitalize on it but It’s what he did to break the image which has made him
what he is today, I could really sense this exact point in many interviews
which he had given to the media. Jill Jung Juck is quite a bold attempt, for
the new team and new concept, But I think it would succeed as a concept at
least, I would hope that it will!!
