Book Review :Stupid Guy Goes to india

I cant say this is a novel review, Because its not a novel, its MANGA comic. Manga  are Japanese comics which has a unique style of reading left to right  Since it is a comic i will be very brief about it and this will be a very short one!

The Reason!

What is so unique about " A stupid guy goes to India"? Well first of all  i think this way of expressing a book is quite simple and its very easy to understand (frankly it reminded me of the Tintin & Tinkle days!). this is a story of Yukichi Yamanatsu -a Japanese manga artist who visits India  with a dream of popularizing the MANGA culture to the Indian locals. His experiences in India is portrayed in a fun-filled and a brutal way which is quite interesting to read.

The entire Book is in manga style and all the pics are drawn by the author. the basic story is the the Author Yukichi san is a Manga Art- 56 years old , unmarried wants to come to India to popularize Indian locals with his Manga. He is not a rich guy so he travels with the middle class and eats the way we eat. His struggle to make a Hindi translation of the famous Japanese manga  " Che Daruma Kenpo" . On his stay in India he gets cheated many many many times, pick pocketed , chased by police, stoned by children, gets tricked at prostitution and wins a jackpot in Horse racing and has many crazy adventures.

Verdict:

I had been working with Japanese for 3 years now, they are very different people from the indians, they are mostly quite, very hard working , to the point and very simple. This book in many ways is like that. the concept of manga was introduced as an easy to read novel. But unfortunately Yukichi san's effort was not awarded (if you read the beginning of the comic you will understand why!!)

If you are tired are reading novels and want to to try something new you can go for this. Its totally worth it! I think you would want to read more Manga after you had read it.I am now waiting to buy the next in the series - Stupid guy goes back to India!
