Ant Man 2015

Plot and Storyline:

Ant- Man 2015 is an american Superhero comedy movie directed by Peyton Reed, Ant Man in Marvel comics was considered as the one of the few "comic" super hero, One's power which is often made fun off as fas i have heard. Ant man, the motion picture does complete justice to the comic book though the origin of the characters and the plot is little different than the comic. The film starts in 1989 where a digitally Morphed Michael Douglas - Hank Pym, walks into his office to a meeting of S.H.I.E.L.D Agent carter and his office board members complaining the theft of a red tube, called the "Pym Particle", One which has the ability to shrink anything into a very small size. He is forced out of his office by his board members and then the scene pans to Paul Rudd - Scott Lang, a small time burglar who goes to prison for a petty crime and his life is total mess when he looses his job and is unable to visit his daughter because of his financial situation. Then he finally gets  a chance to rob an old man's house, later when he realises after cracking the case that there is nothing but a weird suit and it was a sham. It is now that Scott meets his mentor Hank Pym and the Story begins to unravel.

Out of all Super Hero films what makes Ant man so strikingly unique is the character of Ant Man himself, an expendable person, one who wears the suit just so that he gets to meet his daughter.  Hank himself does not care about Scott and Scott realises this too we can see it when he tries to console hank's Daughter Hope Pym ( Evangeline Lily) - " He chose me so that I am expendable and you are not, you must have realised what that means".

While comparing to other superhero films like the Batman, Superman , Spiderman etc, there is some joy which you get while watching this film which you will get while watching the rest, maybe because of the sound of the super hero is too funny to imagine. Don't get me wrong the film has all the characters necessary for a superhero film and the director sets them so perfectly that it on par with the greats. There is the mysteries of the suit, the way he trains with the insects, the kill switch, the old master and the secrets which is revealed in the end . It even has the mysterious death of hank's Wife who goes subatomic, a realm where time and space is irrelevant( very Sci-fi and very sharp for the film).

It is even with these given circumstances that Ant man makes you laugh even in the most serious fight sequences. One part which could have been better was the Villain, Though he is also shown in a comic character, his ending is really abrupt and it is almost too easy for Ant man. One though i had while watching the film was the subatomic portion. Though Ant Man comes out of it alive, i think it would have been better if there was even more depth to that scene instead of using a very simple trick to explain it.

Paul Rudd as Scott lang is a perfect cast, not to underestimate his role but it suits him well. There is a lot of possibility of a sequel for the film and possibly an Avengers collaboration, that would be interesting to see. Peyton Reed's adaptation of Ant man is very convincing and it is not a serious super hero film but it is not meant to be and it works!
